Family Promise of Grand Rapids – Family Service Coordinator – IHN Program Manager

Family Promise of Grand Rapids strives to give parents the hope and encouragement they need to create a better future for their kids and end the cycle of homelessness. Family Service Coordinator

The organized, highly motivated person in this full-time position is responsible to work with families in shelter and in their homes to help them locate and/or maintain housing.

IHN Program Manager

Provide overall management supervision of the IHN program, including supervision of staff, and interns.

 

Our Ideal Candidate will:

Family Service Coordination

Responsible to work with families in a shelter or in their home
Assist and develop goal plans for families to find and maintain their housing
Utilizes best practice methods to work with families to support them in their housing
Document client files and case notes
Coordinates relationships with community agencies
Assess family’s access to basic needs, health, academic, housing, and child care needs
Advocates for families as they build their own support network in the community
Demonstrates the ability to work with a culturally diverse population
Create, Assess, Evaluate and Modify Housing Plans/Goals with all families
Program Management

Ability to supervise staff, interns, and AmeriCorps Member and manage work activities
Facilitate monthly meetings with IHN host and support congregation coordinators
Communicates throughout the week with coordinators and volunteers
Assist in IHN training
Manage day-to-day operations of IHN
Assist Director in managing program performance through development and monitoring of outcome measures
Implement program modifications or enhancements as needed
Actively models and communicates the mission and vision of Family Promise of Grand Rapids
General Duties

Provides support with Family Promise special events as needed
Build and support relationships with donors
Distribute services with Day Center as needed

 

Work Environment:

Executes work in family’s homes and in the day center offices
Infrequent lifting of materials up to 40 pounds may be necessary
Job may require working occasional evenings and weekends.
Job will require driving in the Grand Rapids and North Kent area

 

Education and Experience Required:

Bachelor (Masters preferred) in Social Work or Human Services
Documents a valid driver’s license
Presents familiarity with working with families and children
Presents familiarity in program management
Presents familiarity in leadership and managing a team
Demonstrates comfort in a faith based organization
Identifies with evidence-based case management practices
Must have excellent communication skills, including both written and verbal communications
Energetic, self-motivated, organized individual who is accustomed to working in a deadline-focused, high-pressure entrepreneurial environment.
Must be able to work independently, as well as effectively within a team
Must be able to work well with colleagues, board members, volunteers and community members
Must be detail oriented and able to follow through on projects in a fast-paced, often pressured environment
Must be proficient in Microsoft and google office products
Full Time, non-exempt position.  Approximately 40 hours per week.  Reports to the Director of Emergency Services.
