Through our prevention, emergency shelter, housing services, homeownership, family engagement/stabilization services, and Early Childhood services, we’ve helped over 2,500 families build a stronger future.

The organized, detailed, compassionate, and highly motivated person in this full-time position plays an important role in the success of Family Promise of Grand Rapids. This person will be responsible for the execution of the Annual Fund Plan including donor relations, donor database management monthly reporting, and grant management ensuring the organization is financially sustainable to do the important work of its mission.

Knowledge and skills needed for this role include experience in basic fundraising strategies with the ability to establish and execute plans for the Annual Fund for the organization. They will have the ability cultivate relationships as well as research, write and report on all grants as well as understand and strategically use data. Possessing strong writing and communication skills in needed in this role. In addition, this individual will need to enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, be detail and goal orientated, have a passion for mission, prioritize team over self, and be someone who can work in a diverse environment.

Our Ideal Candidate will:

Create, implement and evaluate strategies that lead to sound donor recruitment, cultivation, prospecting, segmentation, recognition, and stewardship
Implement, and execute annual fundraising efforts including content creation for mailings, appeals, reports, and other relevant donor communication
Lead generation and stewardship for businesses, individuals and foundation giving
New donor engagement efforts through education and community presentations
Responsible for donor database management including data quality ensuring accurate data and production of monthly reports
Write and submit high-quality grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and grant reports
Create and monitor grant management and reporting schedule
Event support as needed
Additional duties as needed to support agency.

Work Environment:

Work is performed on site at our Grand Rapids main office and flexible work from home opportunities based on projects.
Lifting of materials of up to 20 pounds may be necessary.
May infrequently require working weekends and/or evenings

Education and Experience Required:

Bachelor’s degree required or relevant education and work experience in a related field.
Two years of annual fund management preferred
Experience working in a deadline-driven environment
Possess strong project management skills and experience
Able to work well in a highly collaborative team environment
Must be self-driven and able to work independently.
Strong communications skills (written, verbal, and presentation)
Must possess a positive, can-do attitude with a commitment to hospitality to others.
Be familiar with and comfortable working in a faith-based environment with congregations and clergy on a regular basis
Energetic, self-motivated, organized individual who is accustomed to or seeking to, working in an entrepreneurial environment.
Ability to work with confidential information and maintain the privacy of the material
Must be able to execute work in alignment with the with core values of the organization.
Must be committed to and passionate about the organization’s mission
Must be proficient in Microsoft Word/PowerPoint/Excel/Gmail/Google Docs, and other common computer skills/software/programs.

Fill Time, non-exempt position.  Approximately 40 hours per week.  Reports to the Vice President of Advancement.
