Siena Literacy Center, a sponsored institution of the Adrian Dominican Sisters, is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization with a mission to improve the lives of families in northwest metropolitan Detroit by providing reading, math, English language, and digital literacy programming for adult learners. We believe that education helps create equity, empowering individuals to reach their potential as parents, wage earners, and community members.
About Siena Literacy Center
Since 1995, Siena Literacy Center has been serving adult learners in the northwest metro Detroit region. Program participants come to Siena with diverse backgrounds and abilities. Goals include:
-Preparation/study for a GED or High School Completion
-Speak English more fluently
-Improve job skills and employability
-Prepare for entry-level exams
-Improve computer and digital literacy skills
-Become more involved in their community
-Be involved in their children or grandchildren’s education
